Seminar Senior Staff (21+)

Did you know that HOBY Texas Gulf Coast is 100% volunteer-run? That’s right – we are only able to provide an OUSTANDING experience for our seminar participants through the efforts of motivated volunteers. Every year, we recruit 70+ volunteers to help us put on an outstanding leadership seminar for 200+ rising high school juniors. Developing seminar curriculum and coordinating event logistics is a year round endeavor and we are always on the look out for volunteers who are interested in making it happen! Or, if you are interested in volunteering at the seminar itself, we have opportunities for you too.

AT THE SEMINAR

Senior Facilitators

As a Senior Facilitator, you will be assigned to a team of 8-10 student ambassadors and 1-2 Junior Facilitator(s). Senior Facilitators are responsible for guiding our student ambassadors through the seminar program, engaging them in conversation regarding our many leadership activities and speakers, and encouraging their teams to remain alive, alert, and enthusiastic through the weekend. Our Senior Facilitators do all this with the help of their Junior Facilitators.

Senior Facilitators are required to arrive at the seminar venue the afternoon prior to seminar start and remain at the seminar through the closing ceremonies. This includes overnight stays at the seminar venue.

Senior Operations

If you are more interested in helping “behind the scenes” to make HOBY run smoothly then consider joining our Operations Staff. Our Operations team is responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly throughout the seminar by coordinating A/V needs, food service, and set up of our numerous activities.

While attending the entire seminar is not required, it is encouraged.

Other Senior Volunteer Opportunities

If you are unable to spend the entire weekend with us at seminar, but would still volunteer for a few hours, we do have opportunities for you!
